Molly & Praveen were married on a spectacular day at Waveny House in New Canaan, CT.
All week, the weather men predicted rain, and not just rain, buckets of torrential rain. Phone calls were made, back up plans were in place, and guests were ready with sleek black umbrellas should the need arise. Behind the scenes, everyone crossed their fingers and hoped that the weatherman was just plain wrong.
The girls prepared in the bridal suite, periodically peering out the window, willing the clouds to go away. They all smiled and toasted as Molly prepared to see Praveen in the garden. For now, even though the haze remained, there were no raindrops falling and the day was beautiful.
Molly & Praveen fell into each other's arms at the first look. Clouds overhead, joy in their hearts, and sunshine on their minds. The wind picked up briefly and played with Molly's veil as the two walked hand in hand around the property. As the savored their last few minutes of alone time and the bridal party made their way down the old stone pathway, the clouds parted, and sunshine poured out of the sky. Everyone delighted, that, perhaps, the weatherman had been wrong.
The sun stayed and warmed the couple through the ceremony, disappearing only at sunset, when it was time for introductions and a starlit first dance. After the couple and their guests enjoyed a few dances on the terrace, the party moved inside and the first course was served. The night continued inside Waveny House, music echoing through the hallways, everyone extremely happy that the weather man had been wrong and the sun had shone brightly for Molly and Praveen.
