We spent the evening exploring Harkness State Park. Shaniya and John meandered through a cleome filled garden, walked down an ivy lined path, and stopped to sit near Eolia Mansion. They chatted and laughed together, filling me in on their wedding plans as we walked. We stopped in both the Pergola and sunken gardens for some romantic portraits, and, despite it being a summer evening, we had them to ourselves. We ended the evening on the white sandy shoreline where Shaniya and John danced and laughed at the water's edge. As we walked back to the parking lot, the fading light turned the horizon a bold orange and we paused for one last shot before continuing our way back through the dunes and up the path toward the mansion.
