Spring Snow

“Hope Springs Eternal”

We all went to bed on Friday night with the hope that spring was finally on its way.  My crocus had popped up, the snow was almost gone, and the temperature was starting to be slightly more agreeable.  Then we woke up on Saturday to New England's favorite cruel joke- spring snow.

As I looked out my window and sighed, something caught my eye.  The crocus, covered in snow weren't upset as I was.  They had simply curled up tight in their new white blanket, as if they had just gone back to sleep for a little while. Snow might be the enemy of spring, but at least it's the prettiest enemy I have ever seen.  And as I watched the crocus, napping in their fluffy white bed, I realized, if disappointment arrives, at least hope springs eternal.
