Scenes from a New England Garden:
Life with Julia Jane

“I will be the gladdest thing under the sun. I will touch a hundred flowers and not pick one”

Every spring, I dream a million tiny dreams... and watch them come true all summer long.

This week, it was my pale orange dinner plate dahlias.  What an amazing surprise to wake up to.

I just want to sit in my garden and soak it all in.

Perhaps I will do just that.  Lie in the hammock with a glass of lemonade and a good book.  Listen to the bees as they flit between the  flowers.  Soak in the bird song that echoes through our back yard.  And smile, because a few short months ago, the trees were bare, the soil looked barren, and the butterflies were nowhere to be seen.  And now? Now the backyard is a riot of activity and a splendid sight to behold.
